Nature of participation:

My participation in the StartCup Competition - 6th Edition 2025, organized by the Mediterranean Universities Network (UNIMED), involved presenting an innovative project titled GreenNova, which develops smart and sustainable agricultural solutions using artificial intelligence and clean energy.

The project focuses on designing a smart plant cultivation system based on solar-powered robots that analyze soil and air quality and sunlight exposure to select the most suitable plant for each location.

Scientific and practical experience:

This participation provided me with a valuable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a competitive international environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of students and mentors from various universities.

Through this experience, I developed my skills in scientific research, design thinking, and environmental analysis using artificial intelligence techniques. I also gained experience presenting projects to international juries, which enhanced my communication and persuasion skills.

Working within a diverse team also helped me develop my leadership skills, ability to assume responsibility, and teamwork under pressure.

During my stay in Italy, I interacted with academics and students from diverse cultures, broadening my technical horizons, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Other activities:

My participation in the competition included many enriching activities. I made field visits to the host university's laboratories and learned about modern technologies in the fields of smart agriculture and sustainable energy.

My stay in Calabria, in southern Italy, was a rich cultural experience, as I learned about the local environment and traditions, and enjoyed traditional Italian food in an authentic atmosphere.

I also had the opportunity to interact with teams from different countries, which helped me expand my international network and exchange experiences and ideas on common environmental challenges and proposed solutions.
