Field Training

Nature of participation:

During my participation in the student exchange program at the College of Agriculture at Anbar University, I had a unique opportunity to gain diverse scientific and practical experience. The training included working in tissue culture laboratories to learn about micropropagation techniques, in addition to working in the Central Laboratory for Agricultural Research and using the latest equipment to analyze samples. Specialized theoretical and practical lectures were also given in the field of indoor shade-grown plants, which enhanced my understanding of modern techniques in indoor agriculture. I also participated in field work in university fields, which allowed me to apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations and acquire practical skills in agricultural production.

Scientific and practical experience:

Through this program, I gained valuable scientific and practical experience in various fields of agricultural sciences. I learned advanced techniques in plant tissue culture in the laboratory, which helped me understand micropropagation methods and produce disease-free plants. I also gained experience in using modern equipment within the Central Laboratory for Agricultural Research to conduct scientific analyses and studies such as (soil analyses, water analyses, and element analyses). In addition, the theoretical and practical lectures enhanced my knowledge of methods for growing shade-grown plants indoors, while field work helped me acquire applied skills in agriculture and agricultural production, which combined the theoretical and practical aspects in an integrated manner.

Other activities:

This experience was not limited to the academic aspect alone; there was also a distinct cultural aspect that allowed me to learn about Iraq's civilization and its ancient history.

During the training days, we visited the capital, Baghdad, and strolled down Mutanabbi Street, a symbol of culture and literature. We also visited the Palestinian Ambassador, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi. We also visited the city of Fallujah and learned about its landmarks and its kind people, where we witnessed the generous hospitality and kindness that characterize the Iraqi people.

In addition, we had a unique opportunity to meet students of different nationalities and exchange conversations with them about their cultures and customs, which added a broad cultural dimension and a rich experience of cultural diversity.
