Field Training
Nature of participation:
The participation consisted of a month-long training program in the field of renewable energy, specifically solar energy. The program also included a cultural exchange, offering the opportunity to learn about diverse cultures.
Scientific and practical experience:
I benefited greatly from both the academic and practical perspectives, as this exchange opened up new horizons for me in the field of renewable energy. Initially, we learned about the field of renewable energy theoretically, then conducted various practical experiments on solar panels, installing them ourselves in various conditions, and simulated solar energy systems using MATLAB. The most important part of the training was visiting solar power plants of various sizes, such as the Ibri 2 solar power plant, one of the largest in the Middle East, and the Sur power plant, which generates power for the Sur desalination plant, in addition to many other plants we visited.
Other activities:
This exchange was full of cultural and recreational activities. We had the opportunity to meet colleagues from different Arab countries and learn about their diverse cultures, in addition to interacting with the kind and peaceful Omani people. We also visited various locations in Oman, explored its beautiful nature, and participated in various recreational activities with our exchange colleagues, which greatly enhanced our experience.
