Mechatronics Engineering
Kurdistan/Iraq
Erbil Technical University
Field training
Nature of participation:
I qualified to be part of the student exchange program for the summer of 2025 in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. I went to participate in field training in many locations, whether inside or outside the university (hospital, iron factories, cardboard factory, university laboratories), and also in addition to the entertainment aspect of visiting the most important landmarks of Erbil, summer resorts, markets and the castle.
Scientific and practical experience:
My academic experience was in the university laboratories in the Mechanics Department, where we conducted many experiments. The practical part also depended primarily on the theoretical and scientific part to complete the training program on-site. I noticed the role of mechatronics engineering in the medical and engineering fields, and the role of the mechanical engineer in the medical field, especially in the maintenance of hospital equipment, i.e. its periodic maintenance, and the engineering field in production lines and industrial companies, such as cardboard production and iron re-forming at Darin Steel Company. I was able to form many relationships with my colleagues in the exchange from within and outside the specialization. I got to know a new culture and a new country. It was one of the most beautiful days of my life, and I thank the university for this valuable opportunity that added a lot to me, whether from the cultural, field, or other aspects.
Other activities:
The recreational trip that began in the historic Erbil Citadel, passing through the old markets in Erbil and outside it, arriving at the most upscale places in modern Erbil, such as the Amber, which reflects an image of the city of Erbil with development and modernity, its popular restaurants and its kind Kurdish people.
