Field Training

Nature of participation:

I participated in a 21-day field training at the University of Anbar, College of Computer Science and Information Technology. The training included a week and a half at the college and a week at the university's computer center. The training included attending a variety of academic lectures in various computer science disciplines, allowing us to expand our academic knowledge and gain exposure to the expertise of specialized professors and researchers. The training also had a cultural and social dimension through interaction with Iraqis and learning about the local community, strengthening bridges of communication between Palestinian and Iraqi youth.

Scientific and practical experience:

Our training experience focused on theoretical knowledge. We attended a series of academic lectures in various computer science fields, including cybersecurity, intrusion detection systems, the OSI and TCP/IP models, addressing and network segmentation, meta-heuristic algorithms, and machine learning.

These lectures were general in nature, aiming to enrich our knowledge in various areas of computer science, even if they were not directly specialized in artificial intelligence.

The training also included lectures at the University of Anbar's Computer Center on cryptography, which added a new dimension of knowledge and contributed to broadening our understanding of theoretical applications in information security.

Other activities:

In addition to academic training, the program included numerous recreational and cultural activities that added a distinctive social dimension to the experience. The evening hours were dedicated to various visits, including the banks of the Euphrates River and the Corniche, wandering through popular markets and experiencing daily life in the city, as well as visiting an amusement park. The program also included a special trip to Fallujah and the capital, Baghdad, where we visited the Palestinian embassy, met with the ambassador, and toured several cultural and historical sites, including Mutanabbi Street and Tahrir Square. These various activities provided us with a unique opportunity to learn about Iraqi culture, strengthen social ties, and enjoy new recreational experiences alongside the academic aspect of the training.
