Study courses

Nature of participation:

My participation at MUST involved studying a set of core courses in laboratory medicine, with the goal of enhancing the applied aspect through practical experience in the university's laboratories. I also undertook training at the Stem Cell Research Center, in addition to practical training in the laboratories of the Suad Kafafi Hospital, which allowed me to gain direct practical experience in an advanced research and clinical environment.

Scientific and practical experience:

I gained my academic and practical experience through intensive daily lectures that covered various and modern topics in the field of laboratory medicine, in addition to applying this knowledge practically in university laboratories. I also received distinguished training at the university's Stem Cell Institute, where specialized professors provided us with a comprehensive introduction to this new branch and explained the mechanism of its equipment. We then conducted a practical experiment to apply what we learned. Later, after completing practical training in university laboratories across various departments, I joined the laboratories of the university's Suad Kafafi Hospital, where we rotated between several departments, such as hematology, immunology, and microbiology. The supervising physicians explained the work of each department, the techniques used in conducting tests, and the operation of the various devices.

Other activities:

In addition to the academic and practical experiences we gained at the university, we participated in numerous activities that reflected the cultural dimension of this program. We were able to exchange cultures and experiences with students from different countries and environments, such as Yemen, Jordan, Kurdistan, Iraq, Oman, and others. We also had the opportunity to learn about Egypt and its rich culture through university trips that included all cultural exchange students.

We visited Khan el-Khalili, one of Egypt's oldest markets, and the Pyramids, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We also visited Alexandria, where we visited the Citadel of Qaitbay, the Library of Alexandria, and the Mediterranean Sea. Our visits also included the Citadel of Saladin and the Al-Hussein Mosque, providing us with a rich cultural and historical experience.
