Civil Engineering and Sustainable Structures
Kurdistan/Iraq
University of Sulaymaniyah
Field Training
Nature of participation:
I participated in a field training that lasted for about a month, which made us make several field visits to various engineering sites and projects such as Sentralpark Samson and Brosk Company. We also took tours inside the laboratories of the University of Sulaimani, where we got to know a group of engineers and gained practical experience in the fields of civil engineering in particular and other engineering in general.
Scientific and practical experience:
During our internship, we learned the field basics of civil engineering, gaining practical experience in implementing foundation and excavation works, and understanding how to handle different types of soil and their reinforcement methods. We also learned how to use engineering devices and equipment in university laboratories to conduct laboratory tests related to building materials, such as concrete and soil tests. This experience contributed to enhancing our practical skills and linking the theoretical aspects of our studies with practical application in civil projects.
Other activities:
We visited all the tourist and cultural sites in Sulaymaniyah, such as Mount Azmar, Lake Dukan, and some waterfalls and springs like Ahmed Awa Park and the markets.
The experience was uniquely cultural and social.
