Jordan Petroleum Refinery

Field Training

Nature of participation:

Field training at the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company as part of the student exchange program.

Scientific and practical experience:

During my training, I learned how to operate electrical power systems in an advanced industrial environment at the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company, particularly at the power plant, which includes a steam power plant and a backup diesel generator.

I gained practical experience in monitoring and operating electrical protection systems, control and distribution panels, and motor starter circuits. I also learned how to implement electrical safety procedures and understand the operation and maintenance of power generation systems in petroleum facilities.

Other activities:

Participate in field visits to generating units and electrical control rooms. Assist in periodic maintenance of generator and transformer units, follow up on electrical protection system tests and monitor operational performance. Review electrical diagrams and understand how generators are connected to distribution panels. Attend orientation sessions on modern energy systems and electrical load management in refineries.
