Nature of participation:

Enrolled at the university for one semester from September 23, 2017 to January 20, 2018.

Scientific and practical experience:

Spending four months at Turkey's top university was truly beneficial. During the courses and lectures, I used many programs I hadn't previously known to work on projects, and I saw many modern laboratories used by graduate students for research. Furthermore, I learned some Turkish and strengthened my English. These reasons, along with spending time at a research university, encouraged me to become a PhD student in the United States.

Other activities:

My student life changed completely after spending four months at Middle East Technical University in Turkey. The Erasmus program is a great opportunity to learn about a new culture. I met interesting people from all over the world and was able to visit most of the cities in Turkey and do amazing activities that I had only dreamed of doing before. I improved some basic aspects of my personality, and now I am more confident, and I can live alone and communicate with others in English without fear or embarrassment. Sure, I faced some difficulties there, but each one contributed to strengthening my personality. Finally, I would like to thank the university for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus program, as it is an opportunity worth seizing.
