Computer Systems Engineering
Portugal
University of Lisbon
Research Internship
Nature of participation:
This participation was divided into two parts: The first part, while still a bachelor's student, I traveled to Portugal for three months to complete a research internship as a mandatory requirement for my graduation. During this time, I worked with my supervisor to solve a research problem related to image processing. Once I had completed my research, just a few days before my departure, my supervisor offered me a scholarship to complete my postgraduate studies in Portugal. I was very excited about this opportunity. After returning and graduating from Computer Systems Engineering, I waited for the certification equivalency period and paperwork to be completed, and then returned to Portugal. I am now completing my doctoral studies at the same university with the same supervisor, working as part of a research team specializing in various computer science fields.
Scientific and practical experience:
These experiences have undoubtedly added significant academic experience and personal skills to my knowledge. I went from a student receiving education to an independent researcher, creating knowledge and sharing my knowledge in international journals and scientific conferences. Scientific research taught me to be a critical thinker, a solution-seeker, open to trying what I feared, and patient with what I didn't know. It taught me to strive to improve myself every day, to face difficulties until I reached my goals, and I will continue to learn.
Other activities:
In addition to training and completing my postgraduate studies, I attended numerous scientific conferences in various countries and participated in numerous cultural and tourism activities. I traveled to many cities in Portugal and neighboring European countries. Finally, I met researchers and experts from all over the world.
